It Took Me Long Enough
I’ve been putting off writing anything here because I know that once I start I will have to post regularly. I hate visiting an author’s website and finding that their most recent post is nearly a year old and I don’t want to do that to my readers. So. It looks like I am committed now. Note the date: Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
First, writing news: I have passed the halfway point on my current work in progress, Betrayed in Paradise. Whoot! This is book six in my Destination Death series and I’m happy to report that I’m having fun with Harriet, my main character. This book should easily be ready to send to my editor with plenty of time for corrections before the on-sale date of April 30th.
On the personal front, I just had cataract surgery in both eyes and the world is an entirely different place. (Yes, I am that old. I don’t feel it and others tell me I don’t act it, but the calendar does not lie.) I have been wearing glasses since first grade, with constantly worsening vision. I can see my face in the mirror without glasses for the first time in forever, and let me tell you, it’s a weird experience. My husband tells me it’s like having a stranger in the house. The surgery wasn’t as awful as I expected–having someone cut into one’s eye is a little creepy–and the recovery has been a piece of cake. I need 1.25 readers for computer work and reading, and once my eyes have healed I’ll need some light correction to fine tune distance, but I can see well enough to drive and go about my day with a naked face. It feels pretty awesome.
So that’s it for today. Welcome to my world. I hope you will feel free to share what is happening in your own world. Signing off, Charley
Congratulations!
Thank you! Going for that streak. . .
