Quote of the Week

This month’s quotes are all from one source – Keanu Reeves. I love Reeves the man and Reeves the actor. He is one of the more grounded of the Hollywood crowd and his generosity is legend.
I was also raised to treat people exactly how I would like to be treated by others. It’s called respect. Keanu Reeves
Respect seems to have fallen by the wayside in the last decade or so. I don’t know if it's the anonymity of the internet or if people are just crabby because all the negative news is shoved in our faces round the clock and there’s no escape from it. Politics have polarized people and the right to have an opinion that doesn’t agree with others has disappeared.
It’s easy enough to fix. Don’t take in the news every hour you are awake. Scan the headlines once a day. That’s all we need. If someone is disrespecting you or another online, disengage. Do not try to change their tune. Unfriend them, block them, do what you have to do to ensure they are no longer part of your intake.
If a friend is disrespecting you, they are not your friend. Drop them. If a co-worker is disrespecting you call them on it, then file a complaint with Human Resources. No one should have to put up with bad treatment. If your boss is disrespecting you, look for other employment. Life is too short to put up with abuse.
Never speak ill of others. It will get back to them eventually. Respect that they are individuals with issues, trying to do their best and muddle their way through their lives – just like we are.
